COALITION COSTINGS CON JOB CONFIRMS SAVAGE CUTS UNDER DUTTON
The Coalition’s costings are a cruel con job that confirms there will be higher income taxes and more savage cuts under a Dutton-led Government.
These costings confirm crucial funding for Medicare, pensions and payments will be on the chopping block, but Peter Dutton and the Coalition won’t tell Australians about it until after the election.
The Coalition will raise taxes two times on every Australian taxpayer, make savage cuts but still post bigger deficits over the next two years.
These numbers are the final nail in the coffin for the Coalition’s economic credibility.
Their costings are dodgy, do not add up and should disqualify Peter Dutton.
They do not account for the Coalition’s policy backflips and blowouts including on mortgages, the fuel excise or taxpayer funded long lunches for bosses.
They do not account for the Coalition’s full $600 billion nuclear scheme and provide no funding for construction of reactors over the forward estimates, despite the Nationals Leader saying nuclear reactors would start being built on day one.
They will slash 41,000 jobs in the public service, which is impossible to achieve without massive cuts to national security and essential frontline services across Australia.
They don’t account for the billions of dollars in additional spending on consultants and contractors that the Liberals will hire instead of public servants like they did last time.
They have bizarrely announced a productivity target while cutting productivity enhancing investments like Labor’s National Productivity Fund. This assumption is also at odds with the GDP projections in their own nuclear modelling.
They have confirmed student debt will be higher under the Coalition and have cut investments in housing, free TAFE and early childhood education and care with more savage cuts to come.
Two days out from the election and after 5 million Australians have already voted, Peter Dutton and the Coalition are still refusing to come clean on their savage cuts.
Peter Dutton will cut, and you will pay.
In contrast, Labor is the party of higher wages, lower income taxes and ongoing help with the cost of living, delivered in a more responsible way.
The choice at this election could not be clearer.
Responsible economic management and a coherent, credible and costed plan under Labor, or more savage cuts to pay for nuclear reactors under Peter Dutton and the Coalition.
